Resplendent Luxury Estate in Cortona with Private Pool and Dining Al-Fresco

About this villa

In the heart of central Italy, where the Tuscan landscape unfurls its green tapestry, a mere 3 km from the enchanting Etruscan village of Cortona, sits a villa that's a testament to history and luxury. Its vantage point offers a stunning sweep over the valley, where the vivid hues and gentle sounds of the countryside come to life. Day trips to Tuscany and Umbria's most picturesque towns are a breeze, whether by car or train.

Recently renovated, this villa is nestled within a 2.5-hectare park, 1 hectare of which is meticulously fenced, boasting an array of florals and plants. This garden, once part of a 17th-century arboretum, still hosts trees over three centuries old, offering shady retreats perfect for relaxation. The garden's ancient allure has been carefully preserved throughout the renovation.

At the heart of the villa is a 15th-century central tower, a historical sentinel originally built to guard against neighboring Umbria. The 1600s saw the addition of two wings by the influential Tommasi family, one of Tuscany's historic clans. Inside, you'll find a tapestry of history: a ceramic plaque depicting the Madonna of the Seven Sorrows, a testament to the Order of the Servants founded here, and tributes to Monsignor Paolino Tribbioli, a missionary and Bishop of Imola.

Every corner of this villa whispers tales of the past, including a rediscovered 16th-century cellar and tunnel, hidden for over two centuries. This Grade A historical site perfectly marries past and present.

The villa's layout is a series of natural terraces. The upper terrace houses the villa, a parking lot, a family vegetable garden, and a patio with a dining table, barbecue, and wood oven. The lower terrace boasts a sun-soaked pool (16x5 meters, with a depth of 1.45 meters, open from May to October), complete with deck chairs, a pergola, and an outdoor shower, offering mesmerizing valley views.

The villa also features an external laundry room with modern amenities. Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and heating are included, as are garden and pool care and final cleaning. Pets and smoking are not permitted.

Inside, the villa (240 sqm) spans two main levels and a third for the last bedroom, connected by an exquisite staircase. The design blends classic Tuscan style with modern elegance, featuring high-quality furniture, detailed spaces, and international influences from the well-traveled owners.

The ground floor hosts a living room with original 16th-century fireplace, a dining room, and a kitchen equipped for culinary explorations, all opening to stunning garden views. A service toilet and laundry room complete this level.

Ascending the stairs, the first level reveals three double bedrooms with private bathrooms (two with showers, one with a bathtub), while the top level houses the fourth bedroom with a private bathroom. Each room is a bright, personality-filled space with countryside views and modern bathrooms adorned in travertine tiles.

The villa offers Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a high chair, and a cot upon request, plus mosquito nets on all windows. A Bluetooth system in the living room, a welcome basket of local products, and mid-week cleaning service enrich your stay in this historical haven.
