About this villa

Not only are you surrounded by the world famous beaches of the North Shore of O’ahu at Hale Nalu, your backyard extends out into the Pacific Ocean, making for an unforgettable beach vacation. Sleeping up to 16 guests and with two separate kitchens and living spaces, this six bedroom, four bathroom home spread over two floors not only offers your large family ample space, but also serves as a retreat where they can relax as they listen to the sounds of waves lapping along the shoreline and gaze out at the seemingly endless ocean, located just steps from your back door.

A comfortable sitting area welcomes you as you enter the open concept great room on the main floor, the perfect place to curl up with a book or plan your day with other members of your family who might be seated at the indoor dining table, cooking in the kitchen, or lounging in the living room. The kitchen is updated and spacious, with stainless steel appliances, lots of natural light thanks to the sliding glass doors that open up to the backyard, and a breakfast bar with seating for four. The adjacent living room is bright and beachy, with plush furniture, a flatscreen TV, and pocket doors that frame the incredible view of the lanai, backyard, and bright blue ocean beyond. Enjoy the cool breeze off the ocean as you relax on the covered lanai, grill, or nap in the hammock, hung between two palm trees. A convenient outdoor shower makes it easy to rinse off before settling in for a movie night. The first floor includes three bedrooms, including one with its own private ensuite, one with large windows and an ocean view, and one with bunk beds, great for kids.

Upstairs, you’ll find a second large, open living space, which includes a full-size kitchen with stainless steel appliances, indoor dining for six with ocean views, a living room with a large sectional, and a sizable balcony where you can have your morning coffee. This floor boasts three additional bedrooms, all with mountain views, including a master bedroom with a king-size bed and another room with bunk beds. There are also two modern, full-size bathrooms on this floor, one of which has a shower/tub combo in case you need to bathe the kids.

The location of Hale Nalu can’t be beat. A bike path is accessible near the home that leads to coffee stands, shops, and other beaches in the area. You will undoubtedly spend much of your time swimming and surfing at the beach located immediately behind the home, but remember to make time for nearby Waimea Bay, where you can take part in the tradition of cliff jumping in the summer, or watch the monster waves roll in during the winter. Both Pipeline and Sunset Beach, two beaches with incredible waves which draw pro surfers year-round, are also in the vicinity. You can rent a stand-up paddle-board in Haleiwa and float along the Anahulu Stream for a laid-back adventure. Finally, visit the shops and restaurants in historic Haleiwa town, including Matsumoto’s for their famous shave ice and Giovanni's Shrimp Truck where you can get a dozen jumbo shrimp cooked just the way you like it.

From the airport: Follow signs for Interstate H-1W and follow the signs to Aiea/Pearl City. Keep right at the fork and continue on to Interstate H-2 N and follow the signs to Mililani/Wahiawa. Take exit 8 toward Wahiawa. Continue straight onto HI-99 N, then continue on to HI-83 E. Drive past Waimea Bay and Foodland Grocery store (on your right), then take a left toward Ke Nui Rd at Ehukai Beach Parking lot (there will be a big field and elementary school across the street, on your right). Drive through the beach parking lot and to the house with the wooden surfboards on the gate. The gate number pad is located on the side of the house that faces the highway.
House Rules
CONDITION OF PREMISES: This property is privately owned. Should any major equipment or appliance require attention, we will work to fix all issues as soon as possible during normal business hours, however, we cannot issue refunds or price adjustments. Please report all minor maintenance problems to your on-island property manager. INVENTORY: All contents in the house, including books, CDs and DVDs, are provided for your use and enjoyment during your stay. In order to ensure this home is in the best possible condition for every guest, a full inventory will be taken. Please let us know ahead of time if something is lost, broken, or in need of repair. HOUSEHOLD SUPPLIES: Soaps, cleaning supplies, paper goods, and other necessities have been provided for your use. While we have stocked the house with these essentials, if you do happen to run out of anything during your stay, we kindly ask that you purchase more. CONSERVE ELECTRICITY: Utility costs are extremely high in Hawaii. Please help conserve electricity by shutting off unused appliances, fans, lights, etc. If the AC is on, please close the windows and doors, and shut off the air when you leave. We ask that you would not change any setting in the freezer or the refrigerator. Please note, energy caps may apply to your stay. SHOES IN THE HOUSE: In Hawaii, it is customary to remove your shoes before entering a home. Please help us preserve this tradition by removing your shoes when you enter. FURNITURE: In order to avoid damaging the floors, we ask that you do not move the furniture around. Also, please use caution when eating or drinking near any furniture, upholstery, or bedding. Additionally, we ask that you would not place wet towels, clothes, or bathing suits on the furniture or balcony and/or lanai rails. Also, interior furniture is to be used inside. When moving dining chairs or bar stools, please be careful to avoid floor damage. Use lanai furniture on lanai only and leave all interior furniture inside. SAND: Sand is extremely sticky! In order to avoid tracking in unwanted sand, please shake out all of your towels and sandy clothes before coming back inside. BEACH TOWELS: Beach towels have been provided for your enjoyment. Please do not use bath towels for the beach. Remember to shake off excess sand before bringing beach towels back inside. Please make sure they are free of sand before placing them inside the washing machine. BEACH EQUIPMENT: Please rinse and return all equipment after each use. WASHER AND DRYER: In order to avoid unnecessary repairs, we ask that you please use care when washing your clothes. Never put sandy towels or shoes in the machines, as doing so could result in damage. Please make sure the lint trap is cleaned after each dry cycle. We kindly ask that you change your wet and/or sandy clothes before sitting on bedding or furniture. In order to avoid mildew, we ask that you would not place wet towels on furniture and bedding. MAID SERVICES: Maid service is not provided with your rental unless specified in your agreement. Should you wish to schedule maid service, you may contact your property manager. SPILLS: We know that spills on sofas, pillows, and linens are inevitable. If you or one of your guests spill something please clean it up immediately to avoid stains. YOUR SAFETY AND SECURITY: To ensure your safety, we ask you to please lock all doors and windows when you’re away, as well as before you go to sleep at night. Be sure to bring all personal belongings inside with you every night. NEIGHBORHOOD: We want everyone to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the area. Please be thoughtful of the neighbors and refrain from playing loud music and making excessive noise between the hours of 8:00 PM and 8:00 AM. NO-PET POLICY While we love our pets as much as we know you love yours, we ask that you would not bring them onto the premises, as they carry allergens and fleas. The cost to de-flea is expensive. It’s best for everyone if bringing pets into the home is avoided altogether. OCEAN: We care about your safety! Please remember that the ocean has a strong current and an unpredictable surf and current. Please check with lifeguards before entering the ocean. Swimming at night is especially dangerous and should not be done by anyone. PARKING: In order to show consideration to the neighbors, we ask that you park in assigned, designated parking areas. Additionally, we ask that you do not block driveways, sidewalks or mailboxes. PARTIES/EVENTS: This home is for residential vacation use only. Therefore, parties, receptions, luaus, events and gatherings of any kind are strictly prohibited. TROPICAL PESTS: This home is regularly treated for pests. In the tropics, however, they can’t always be eliminated. To help keep these unwanted visitors at bay, please keep food in air-tight containers, dispose of food scraps in Ziploc or tied plastic bags, and do not leave dirty dishes out for extended periods. Special care should also be taken to dispose of soiled diapers in airtight Ziplocs or bags. While most of the pests are harmless, you should always avoid contact with centipedes, which can have a nasty sting.

Check in anytime after 3:00 pm. Please contact the property managers upon arrival at the airport to confirm check in procedures for accessing the home. Use the keypad outside the property gate to unlock and slide it open. Park anywhere inside the property gate. For your safety it’s advisable to keep the gates closed at all times. The property managers will give you access codes on the day of arrival or after airport screening. Please check with your manager if you do not see information available prior to check in.

Cancellation Policy
If Cancellation notice is received more than forty five days (46+) prior to the check-in date, a cancellation fee equal to 10% of the Reservation Grand Total will be forfeited and the balance will be refunded.If Cancellation notice is received between 45-31 days prior to the check-in date, a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the Reservation Grand Total will be forfeited and the balance will be refunded.If Cancellation notice is received within 30 days (0-30) of the check-in date, the full booking amount of rent and taxes will be forfeited. The Security Deposit and any pre-collected cleaning fees will be refunded. As courtesy to our Guest, if Agent is able to rebook any portion of the canceled reservation, Guest will be refunded to the extent that Agent is able to re-book the Property. Refunds will be issued within 7 days from receipt of written cancellation to the payment method used in the initial deposit. Credit card fees and travel insurance are non-refundable.
